The Blast Wheel
The blast wheel assembly is the heart of every Goff machine. Direct drive units, each Goff wheel is equipped with 4 or 7 curved blades depending on the wheel diameter. During the blast operation a measured flow of abrasive falls continuously through the feed spout into the impeller, which is rotating in synchronization with the blast wheel. The abrasive accelerates within the impeller and is smoothly inserted to the individual blades through a slot in the cage. The positioning of the slot, which is adjusted by rotating the control cage, determines the direction of the blast stream and allows the "hot spot" to be easily set. An ammeter measures the actual flow of abrasive.
The Goff Difference
  • Direct Drive Assures maximum energy is optimally used at all times.
  • Curved Blades Curved in the direction of the rotation to provide high velocity and even distribution.
  • Snap-Lock Blade Design Enables quick and easy removal and replacement of worn blades.
  • Blade Sets Weighed prior to leaving the factory to improve the balance and life expectancy of the wheel assembly, while also reducing noise and vibration.
  • Fully Lined Wheel Housing With interlocking, cast wear-resistant liners.
  • Adjustable Valve Allows precise control of abrasive flow.
Abrasive Recycling System
Goff Table Blast models utilize a primary screen to protect the conveyor and elevator from foreign objects. A secondary screen in the storage hopper, or a rotary screen, provides positive protection to the blast wheel.
Abrasive Reconditioning & Dust Collection
Goff carefully matches the appropriate abrasive separation system and blast machine, for the absolute best performance and superior blasting results. Goff separation systems effectively sort out used abrasives and other contaminants. The dust collector relies on the air pulse cleaning of the cartridge or polyester bag filter, to continuously keep the environment dust-free during operation.
Safety
Safety is a primary consideration on all Goff Table Blast machines.
  • Blast can only be started if the door is in the closed and locked position.
  • Door cannot be opened while the blast wheel is in operation.
  • Blast wheel is slowed down by a continuing flow of abrasive for a pre-set time, after shutting off power to the wheel drive.
  • Emergency stop button provided on control panel.
  • Thermal overload protection on all electric motors.
  • Totally enclosed fan cooled motors.
  • Disconnect switch.
Wear Testing
Goff is dedicated to continually improving the wear resistance of their machines. Wear resistance field data is constantly collected and analyzed by Goff engineers and when necessary, corrective action is implemented in the design immediately.
  • Only material with the best wear resistance is used on components exposed to blast stream.
  • Spare and wear parts designed for quick and easy replacement.
  • Worldwide service team.
  • Extensive parts stocking program.
